GodLike Esports bid adieu to Abhijeet Harishchandra Andhare, famously known as Ghatak, marking his departure from the organization on December 11. Initially signed in August 2021 as a mentor and coach for the BGMI team, Ghatak's departure was recently confirmed by the club.
Ghatak's arrival at GodLike Esports in August 2021, along with the former TSM India roster, was met with surprise. His experience and mentorship played a pivotal role in the team's success, securing victories in prominent tournaments like the Skyesports Championship 3.0, Ranbhoomi Season 1, and Loco War of Glory.
The club's notable achievements under Ghatak's guidance showcased their prowess, securing high ranks in various competitions. However, despite promising performances, GodLike Esports faced setbacks in events like the PUBG Mobile Global Championship 2022 and the BGIS 2023, where they ranked 13th.
Following the ban on Battlegrounds Mobile India in July 2022, the team encountered challenges but persisted despite the game ban. Relaunched by Krafton in May 2023, the club continued with the same roster. Despite recruiting a new IGL (Jelly) for ongoing tournaments, they faced difficulties in delivering standout performances.
Ghatak's departure marks the end of a successful tenure as both player and coach spanning four years. He hinted at revealing details about his future endeavors in the coming days.
The departure of Ghatak from GodLike Esports marks the end of an era, highlighting his influential role in shaping the BGMI team's journey, filled with victories, challenges, and adaptations.
