Developers Garena is inviting Free Fire users all across India to represent their own individual State or City for their first ever Garena Free Fire City Open, the first-of-its-kind national tournament.

Garena Free Fire City Open Tournament will feature the top 12 teams from across the country, as they will compete for the prize pool of INR 60 Lakhs!!! This 12 teams will consist of top 10 teams from 8 States each, which have been named after their major cities – Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Ahmadabad, Kolkata, Chennai, Visakhapatnam and Lucknow. This are eight of them, So the remaining 2 teams are the wild cards who hail from outside the 8 States. As wide the game is probably it’s tournament is, you would have got that the City Open Tournament is a nationwide tournament, only for Indian Free Fire users and it’s fans. So, the City Open Tournament will target 12 teams all across India that will participate for the share prize pool of over 60 Lakh INR. Esports fans can sign-up via the Free Fire Cup (FFC) mode from 26th of April, 2021 until the match day on 30th of April, 2021.

So, the involvement of these particular cities was done by Garena via the public poll system. So, the top 8 cities states that were mostly voted are:-

  • Delhi
  • Mumbai (Maharashtra)
  • Hyderabad (Telangana)
  • Ahmedabad (Gujarat)
  • Kolkata (West Bengal)
  • Chennai (Tamil Nadu)
  • Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh)
  • Visakhapatnam (Andhra Pradesh)

Teams will consist of 10 teams from the 8 above-mentioned cities/states with 2 wild card teams from outside the cities/states.

What will be the format of this tournament?

Free Fire City Open Tournament will kick off with the FFC mode on the 30th of April, 2021. As the city finals would be scheduled in the month of June.

Qualifying teams will be selected on their individual city finals; 2 teams selected from the play-ins between the teams ranked between 2 to 4 from each of the 8 city finals and 2 wildcard teams which will be the best teams chosen from the rest of India from outside of the 8 participating cities. Developers will reveal more information on the city open at a later time.
