Top-G makes history by winning India’s first all-female CS:GO qualifiers for World Esports Championships
In a thrilling best-of-three finals, Top-G emerged victorious over Purr-ple to become the first Indian female CS:GO team to qualify for the World Esports Championships. Led by captain Swayambika Sachar, the team showcased their skills against tough competition, proving their mettle on the international stage.
Expressing her joy at the win, Sachar said, “We felt so many emotions before, after, and most importantly during the match and the adrenaline rush was on another level. We aim to prove on the world stage why we deserve this spot.”
The Esports Federation of India, which organized the National Esports Championships, expressed its pride in seeing a female team represent India at the global level. The organization has been working to provide opportunities for female athletes to showcase their talents and high-quality gameplay.
Top-G dominated the first map before Purr-ple made a stunning comeback to win the second map. However, Top-G’s effective teamwork and proficient attacking tactics helped them edge out their opponents in the closely-contested finals.
The World Esports Championships, scheduled to take place in Romania, boasts a prize pool of $500,000 and will see at least 130 countries participating. Top-G will be competing in friendlies against notable female CS:GO teams from other countries before the global finals.
The ongoing National Esports Championships is witnessing the participation of 275 athletes across four different titles and is being streamed live on various platforms.
Artsmith-Concepts & Visions, one of the country’s top sports & Esports communication agencies, will continue its support to the Esports Federation of India as their official communication partner.
