KennyS: The French AWP King and His Record-Breaking Feat
KennyS, the French Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) legend, has achieved a milestone that no other AWPer has been able to reach. According to HLTV’s database, he has secured the highest number of AWP kills on LAN tournaments, breaking the record previously held by veteran AWPer GuardiaN.
KennyS, known for his aggressive and fast-paced style, is considered one of the most dominant AWPers of all time. He has played for some of the top French CS:GO teams, including VeryGames, LDLC, Titan, Envy, and G2, and has won multiple championships, including the DreamHack Open Cluj-Napoca Major with Envy in November 2015.
After being moved to G2’s bench in March 2021, KennyS took a long break from competition. However, upon his return, he played for Falcons, a full-French team that includes fellow Major champion NBK and his old G2 teammate, Alexandre “bodyy” Pianaro. Although he toyed with the idea of switching to VALORANT in 2022, he ultimately decided to stick with CS:GO.
At the ongoing BLAST Paris Major Europe RMR A in Copenhagen, Denmark, KennyS surpassed GuardiaN’s historic milestone of 9,207 AWP kills on LAN tournaments. He secured the new record of 9,208 kills after playing against Sprout (16-12 on Ancient), Natus Vincere (6-16 on Ancient), and MOUZ (16-8 on Vertigo).
GuardiaN, who has been inactive from professional CS:GO since September 2022, is unlikely to beat KennyS’ record anytime soon. FalleN is third on the list, followed by s1mple and allu.
In an interview with HLTV at the RMR on April 7, KennyS expressed his excitement at being back in the game. “I missed it, I feel like I never left,” he said. “It’s a pretty good feeling. I’m still adapting, you know, but I can see that it’s much easier and much more fun than any of the games you can play. LAN events are the best you can do, so I’m very happy to be back.”
Currently, KennyS and Falcons have a 2-1 record at the BLAST Paris Major Europe RMR A, and they need just one more win to qualify for the tournament.
KennyS’ record-breaking feat is a testament to his skill and dedication to the game. As one of the most dominant AWPers of all time, he has left an indelible mark on the CS:GO community, and his legacy will continue to inspire players for years to come.
