Say goodbye to JMR Luna as the CEO of OG Esports! After a remarkable three-year run, JMR has decided to step down from his role at the European organisation.
In the announcement, OG stated:
“OG Esports is announcing that JMR Luna has stepped down as CEO. This decision was agreed upon after many months of discussions and considerations from all parties. From everyone here at OG Esports, we would like to express our appreciation for what we have achieved during these last few years and wish him the best for his future.”
In a tweet, Luna expressed his gratitude to the company’s founders, N0tail and Ceb, for entrusting him with such a valuable opportunity. But where will Luna’s journey take him next?
Luna brings a unique and rare set of skills to the world of esports, having come from the film industry with a background in cinematography. Before joining OG, JMR worked as the Head of Content at Evil Geniuses and then as the VP of Content Production at Immortals Gaming Club.
At OG Esports, Luna left his mark with the weekly Monkey Business Podcast, which he hosted alongside N0tail and invited guests from all over the esports industry, including pro players, casters, and streamers.
Under Luna’s leadership, OG’s CS:GO team reached the top three at BLAST Premier just one year after its founding and acquired a VALORANT team with a partnership with London United. He also witnessed the historic change in OG’s two-time DOTA 2 International championship-winning team, as the entire roster disbanded and a new team was formed in its place.
JMR also helped forge partnerships with companies like Grab and 1xBet, solidifying OG’s place in the industry. And let’s not forget his highly successful documentary series “Road to the International,” which gave fans an in-depth look at the OG players and helped connect them to the team on a deeper level. With six episodes in the series, JMR’s cinematographic touch is evident.
