Tekken 8: Release Date, Platforms, Story, Gameplay, and Roster
Tekken 8, the next iteration in the popular fighting game franchise, was announced in September 2022. While the release date has not yet been announced, it is expected to come out in late 2023 or 2024. Tekken 8 will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, making it a next-gen title.
The first trailer showcased a fight between series lead Jin Kazama and his father Kazuya Mishima, with the Devil Gene likely to play a significant role in the story. Jin’s mother, Jun Kazama, made a surprise return in the next trailer. The game engine, running at 60FPS on the PS5, looks impressive, with dynamic backgrounds and powerful attacks.
The roster of playable characters is still unknown, but the first trailer showed Jin and Kazuya, and subsequent trailers revealed returning characters such as Paul Phoenix, King, Law, Lars, and Jack-8. Fans were thrilled with the announcement that Jun Kazama would be playable for the first time since Tekken 2.
